Help on installing mobile car kit in Ford KA2 |

I'm looking to install a mobile hands free kit in my Ford KA2. Does anyone know of any sites where I could find info on finding a 12 volt supply that is controlled by the ignition switch and if a Car Radio Muting (CRM) line can be used with the standard radio?

Great to have you here. Sorry I'm not help with your phone, hopefully someone else will be. How long have you had the KA2? Quote: Wheels Magazine December 2002. The closest I can come up with (with some help from my UK KaKlub friends) is that maybe Sony does one that has this feature, and someone else says "the current Ford 5000 / 6000 / 6006 stereos do have a phone related connector on the back, that when connected to an appropriate handsfree system can do radio mute, and may do sound through the speakers - not something I've ever really looked into. Will see what I can find out."
Maybe ask at a fairly up-market car radio shop if they can suggest anything? Rob - Adelaide, Australia.

Cheers, I appreciate the assistance - I've decided the best approach may be wait for a bit and do some more research but thanks for your help. I'll look into the ford stereo lead.

G'day Paul - I've had the KA2 for about 2 years and find it is quite a good little car if driven assertively. So far only hassle has been a dodgy bonnet release - handle came away from the cable.
